Grow Mushrooms on Books - Pride Library Fundraiser

Do you know mushrooms will grow on books?

This quick hands-on session will talk you through the process of growing oyster mushrooms on old books. Participants will have the chance to inoculate a book that they no longer want, which will then fruit at home.

This project is a fundraiser for the Pride Library, a queer-led community library specialising in left-wing political theory, history and queer literature.

What to bring

- Bring some books to inoculate with mushroom spawn! The best books to bring are thick books made from uncoated paper - think a Harry Potter book. 

- If you want to donate any lefty or queer books to the Pride Library, please bring them along too.
