About

Ever wanted to learn how to grow mushrooms as a secondary crop in your vegetable beds? In this workshop we explore an introduction to the science of mushroom  cultivation and give you a hands-on opportunity to innoculate a bed at Platt Fields Market Garden with King Stropharia (Stropharia rugosoannulata).

King stropharia, aka Wine Cap, is a delicious mushroom that is nice  and straightforward to identify. Attendees will receive a guide on how to prepare and maintain your own mushroom bed, as well as identify any mushrooms that might pop up.

Please note that this is a dirty outside workshop. We will provide gloves but  please dress accordingly and make sure you have sturdy footwear! We'll be offering small boxes of spawn that you can take home and innoculate your own bed with.

Tickets are allocated on a first come, first served basis and we  don't operate a wait list system, however if last minute places become  available we'll share this on our social media.
