About

We're going mushroom hunting! As part of our volunteer programme we're doing some fungal biodiversity monitoring in the local area and would love your help. This time we're just going to focus on the park itself to see what we can find directly around the market garden. Biodiversity monitoring is incredibly important and it's a great skill to practice in a supportive environment! You don't need to be an identification expert, just observant and up for making good records! We'll provide things like field guides and hand lenses. If you are coming, it would be really helpful to have iNaturalist installed on your phone, just search for it in your app store.

If you have attended any of our identification courses, you are of course very welcome to come and share your learnings with others :)

We suggest bringing waterproofs and sturdy shoes, as well as clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided, but please do bring a packed lunch. Sometimes MUD sell food too but we can't always guarantee it will be available on the day.

If you have any access needs please do let us know at hello@mycomanchester.com!
