About
Join Myco for a wild walk around Fletcher Moss where we collect some elderflowers (and potentially other goodies) before returning to the Myco farm to make some elderflower pickles. Each participant will take home a jar of elderflower pickles, and a little recipe zine full of more ideas of how to use elderflowers.
What is a wild walk?
They’re a chance for us to learn, connect and enjoy nature together - we explore a green space at a leisurely pace, pointing out interesting plants or fungi we come across. It’s a space for us to share our knowledge rather than flaunt it - we’re far from professional botanists so can’t identify everything and encourage others to share what they know too! On this wild walk we will be taking the time to forage for elderflowers to use in our fermentation workshop later.
Timings
Meet outside the Didsbury Pub at 10.30 for the wild walk. We will then have a wander around Fletcher Moss for 2ish hours before heading to the Myco Farm on the bus. The pickle workshop will begin at 1.30pm at the Myco Farm at Platt Fields Market Garden. The fermentation workshop will likely take about 1.5 hours, finishing at 3.00 pm.
Pricing
The cost of this event is £30 - £40 depending on what you can afford. This includes a faciliated wild walk, pickles workshop, a jar of pickles and a recipe zine.
